CASE OF SUICIDE
. (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CHEISTCHTJECH, 21st July. The body of William Bennie, an. old-age pensioner, aged about.7o-years, was found in one of. the receiving tanks at the Lytteltori Borough Council's waterworks, at Heath cote yesterday afternoon by the waterworks engineer, Mr. J. Morgan. Eennie, who was employed by the Lyttelton Borough Council until he retired a few years ago, lived by himself in a bach on the waterworks property He was last seen alive at about li^pfelock yesterday morning. Mr. Morgan visited the bach at about 3 p.m. and found a note from Bennie addressed to him. giving directions as to the disposal of the old man's property, including £58 in cash, which was in tho bach. Mr. Morgan then made a search, and found tho body in one corner of the large concrete tank. A sack containing two pieces of railway; iron was tied round his neck.
