DARGAVILLE, This Day. Some time between 5 p.m. ,on "Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday "Mr. M. J. Nelson's general store at Whatoro was broken into and the heavy safe was taken outside and broken open with a sledge hammer and an iron bar. The amount stolen consisted of £7 in notes. Tlv thieves^also took 20s in cash from the till and the ledger and cash book safe was damaged beyond repair. Tho police have tho matter in hand, but no arrest has yet been made.
