MARIST v. JOHNSONVILLE.
The above teams met at Kelburn under most unpleasant conditions. The ground •was in good order, although naturally very greasy, and it came as a, surprise when the referee, after twenty-five minutes' play, stopped the game. Marist protested and the game was resumed, only to be-finally stopped by the referee' ten minutes later. The game, as far as it went, showed Marist to be the superior team, although playing against the wind and driving rain. The play had not been, in progress long before Barton beat Mildenhall with a fine shot from the wing. 1-0. Johnsonville. retaliated, and, aided by the conditions, pressed hotly, and Marist were lucky on one occasion in keeping their goal intact. There was no further score, and the game will have to be replayed.
Mr. • Hill was the referee.
