Sister Lewis presented a most satisfactory roport, in which nbo mentioned that classes woro being continued as usual,. and there woro übout 550 porsons in training. Examinations had boon arranged for Senior Homo Nursing, intermediate afiii elementary classes, and also for t/i° first aid! sections of such. Dr. Boauinont. had' lectured oii first aid, and had also anrnngcd for medical men ;to cxamino the Htudonto. For his work in this oemmeetion Dr. Boaumont was accorded a hearty voto of thanks by the meeting. Now classes, continued Sister Lewis's report, would commoneo early in July. Arrangements had ' been made for a mother's rest room, first aid statio:u at the coming Winter Show, and tho meeting decided that half tho spaco of £>6 x 10ft bo devoted to a Junior Bed Citoss exhibit and the' work of the civilian blind, and tho other half to the rest station, which will bo staffed by members of tho detachment. Several visits had been paid to necessitious cases, smd 75 garments had been distributed. Free medical lectures arc again being i arranged for, and the first will be giyen by Dr. W. F. Shirer on "Ultra Violet Light." Dr SMer will give the aecond ■ lecture. ;

Miss Lissington (secretary of the Junior Bed Cross) reported that n<ew circles had been formed at OkuJtu School, Bangiora, and Poroti School (Auckland). Circles would also fte. started during the month at Bangitii-jei West, Petono West, Avoca, Southland, Cardrona, Contral Otago, and Hataiitai School. So far £8 10s had bcttn received towards the street day cblleetion. ' Miss Lissington 'a report akio covered her visits to different scho'oliß, and the activities of the various circleu. For instance, the Wellington Girls' Gvilege was preparing to hold special clothes,.vegetable, baby, egg, and apple days to assist the Headquarters Cupboard, and tho Lyall Bay circle had! taken up a collection . fox the Kennyfund. Most of the Wellington schools, are taking classes in first aid or home nursing under Sister Lewis. Both reports were adopted. ... The meeting then continued as the ' annual meeting of the Peacetime Division. The report, which has already been published in "The Post," and the financial statement were adopted, thanks being extended to all who had given their support to.the.division during the year. Miss Lissington stated that the circulation of the Bed Cross journal was improving, having risen from 500 to 3000.in. the last twelve months. Very appreciative reference was made by Captain Galloway to trie chairmanship of Mr. Chapman, who was again elected to that office.
