WOMEN AT OXFORD

LIMITING THE NUMBER

(United Pre«« Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, 14th June. The Oxford Congregation by 228 votes to 164 decided to limit the number of women undergraduates to 620. Tho principal of Hertford College in advocating limitation contended that maintenance of the present proportion of one woman to four men was appropriate for a university with tho history and tradition of Oxford.

Miss Fry said that women were sick to death of discussing tho abilities and disabilities of their sex. They oiily asked to be trusted to help tho university and not to be treated as a menace and a danger.
