EXTENDING CAS MAINS

The Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board decided last evening, in order to assist in finding employment, to make application to the Local Bodies Loan Board for permission to raise a loan of £5000 under the Unemployment Loan Act. The board intends to spend the money for labour in extending its reticulation, principally in Lower Hutt, in anticipaton of next year's increase in population, in order that the recent sub-divisions may be ready for, the building operations which will be carried :on next summer.
