SWIMMING CERTIFICATES

At the- Island Bay School yesterday afternoon presentations of swimming certificates were made to scholars who had qualified tinder the rules of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. jUr. H. J?. Penlington (headmaster), hi introducing air. T. A. Kickctts and Mr. N. A. Ingram, president and secretary respectively of the Island Bay Life-saving and Surf Club, said that it was very p.aas.ng to see so many of the scholars winning the certificates, and trusted- that they would take full advantage of the opportunities given to them to become efficient swimmers and life-savers. Mr. Ricketts congratulated the school on its fine performance. The following certificates, were presented:—Learners' certificate: Dorothy Wagg, Audrey Williams.
