PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

"'Variety," now showing at the Paramount Theatre, is a remarkable picture. The star actor and actress in the new play aro Erail Januings and Lyn de Putti. Miss de Putti was formerly a premier danseuse, and has appeared in many films with much distinction The story of "Variety" opens with a prisoner telling his life to the warden. Twenty years before, the man had been a member of the world's greatest acrobatic act. His partner, Artinelli, made love to his pretty wife. He challenges him to a duel, ends his career, and gives himself up to justice. The scenes behind the stage constitute a prominent part cf the story, and display the marvellously fine acting of the principals. The orchestra, under the direction of Mr. R. Caulton, contributes several special numbers in addition to the incidental music.
