WELLINGTON CITY OBSERVATORY

On Saturday, 4th June, from 7.30 to 9.30, the 9-inch telescope at Kelburn will be open to the public if weather conditions are favourable. The moon will be at a good phase, but the great ringed planet Saturn and the star cluster Omega Centauri are likely to prove the chief attractions. Interesting lantern slides and transparencies will be shown.

A large number of visitors attended the Observatory last Saturday, when the conditions for seeing were very good in the early part of the evening. Among the objects shown in the telescope were the planet Saturn, double stars, clusters, etc., in the Centaur and the Scorpion.
