TRAIN LOSES TABLET
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Bay. Three passengers who left Auckfand by t.raiu on Tuesday night for Kumeu completed their journey on a railway jigger. Because the tablet was lost the train went only as far as Waitakere. Search was made for the tablet, without which a train cannot proceed, but it could not be found. After waiting for hulf-an-hour at Waitakere it was decided to take the passengers over the remainder of the journey on a jigger. The missing tablet was found at 9.30 yesterday morning. Until then the pilot guard system was brought into operation on the Waitakere-Kumeu section. By this method a guard with a distinguishing mark on his arm takes the place of the tablet apparatus, and thereby provides for safety on th£ toe.
