QUEEN'S THEATRE.
'■Whispering Wires," the mystery drama which is now showing at the Queen's Theatre, contains some fine comedy scenes. Mack Swain and Arthur Housman are cast as two dumb but interested, detectives who are sent to a;mansion to solve a mystery. Instead of sticking to their job, however, they become involved with a pretty maid. Anita Stewart, the star, gives a charming performance. Iv support are a gazette and eome'dy, with excellent music by the orchestra. . ■.■':■■
A splendid cast is seen in the picturisation of Zane Grey's "Jfcin of the; Forest," which comes to the Queen's on Friday. Jack Holt, popular hero of many.:gripping western stories by the, widely-read author, plays the male. lead. ' He recently completed "Forlorn River." Georgia Hale has the feminine lead opposite Holt. Other members of the cast include El Breiidel, comedian; Warner Oland, Tom Kennedy, Ivan Christie, Bruce Gordon, and Vester Pegg. The last named is reputed to be one pf...tlae .West's.most skilful riders. "Man of the Forest deals' with" tlie" romantic adventures of Holt as a rancher, who plays a lone'hand in the cattle- game- with-.his interest-largely confined to wooded ranges in the high country.
