CENTRAL AUXILIARY

Representatives of eighteen Bnptist churches in the Wellington area gathered at the Berhampore Baptist Church on Tuesday and Wednesday for their annual conference. The president, Mr. H. Ivory, presided, and there was' a record attendance of delegates. The secretary (Mr. A. W. North) reported that there had been many ministerial changes during the year, that new buildings had been erected at Morniugton and Lyall r-y, that Hawera was deservedly making ;; Dominion-wide appeal for funds for a new church, that two recruits had gone from local churches to the Indian mission field, that successful Unnese mission work was being carried on at Vivian street by Mr. So Tin Wong that immigrants were being met and helped by Mr. D. W. Alexander, and that about £400 had been granted to aid struggling churches. Mr. Ivory presented a satisfactory bal-ance-sheet.

Xiie Revs. HE. Goring (Wanganui), F. A. Crawshnv (Palmerston North)- R btewart (Gonville), and Pastor Alfred •tear (Island Bay) were welcomed by the president to the auxiliary.
