The District Deputy Grand Master (Bro. H. Dames, P.G.) presided over the monthly meeting of Wellington District Lodge, No. 5, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., there being a large attendance of past grands and executive officers of subordinate lodges. Two members were advanced to the second degree by the district degree master (Bro. J. H. West, P.G.) Various reports were received and adopted, the membership report for July-December term showing another very satisfactory increase in the district roll. Ballot for- selection of D.D.G.M. for the succeeding biennial term resulted in the election of Bro. F. J. Jones, P.G., G.L. representative, and district treasurer. Second nominations for District Lodge officers for ensuing year were taken. Items of interest to come before the Grand Lodge at Christchureh this month were debated, the principal speakers being the district representatives, P.D.D.G.M. Bro. H. Finch, P.G.s Bros. W. White and S. P. Curtis, and Bro. Durney, V.G.
