The annual Wellington regatta is being held on the northerly course at the Petone end of the harbour.to-day. The finishing place is about half a mile to the south of the Petone railway crossing. , • In addition to the local crews, outside clubs are well represented, and the visitors include the Wendouree four from Victoria. This crew is starting in the Senior Fours, and in other events, and will be pitted against some of the best crews in the Dominion. . Next Saturday the championship regatta will be held at Picton, and consequently a number .of the crews racing here to-day are on their way to the Sounds. '. In view of next Saturday's regatta the performances of the crews today will be watched with interest: Besults at the time of going ' to press are:— Senior Single Sculls, one mile and a half; Best and Best Boats, for Pearce Challenge Cup.—-Hamilton Bowing Club (No. 1), J.
