NEGLIGENT DRIVING

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Remarking that there were features of the case which were decidedly not nice, Mr. Mosley fined .Percy Hazeldine, a taxi-driver, £8 and costs for negligent driving. His license was suspended till 31st March.
Senior-Sergeant Martin said that Hazeldine was driving a party back to tho city from New Brighton*. There wore two ladies and two men in the ear. The car collided with the front of ii tram travelling to Ncav-Brighton. No one was seriously injured. The two men passengers wore arrested for drunkenness. When Hazeldine was seen at his home some time after tho accident his condition was fair. There were beer bottles in tho car.
Counsel for 'the defendant said that Hazeldim- had not drunk any of the liquor.
