BODIES RECOVERED

BLACK VEIN PIERCED

LONDON, 3rd March. As the result of yesterday's work at Cwm, rescuers broke through the Black Vein fall and recovered nineteen bodies. The opening released poisonous gases, threatening the whole pit, but the rescuers in gas masks, crawling on hands and knees, reached huddled heaps of bodies, which they hope to bring to the surface early this morning. Ten remain to be accounted for.
