OVERSEAS TOUR OF SCHOOLBOYS

A meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association was held last evening. Mr. A. Varney presided. Mr. J. M. Downie, of Auckland, was appointed advance agent for the Canadian tour during the coming season, and Mr. C. Reid, of Wellington, was appointed official trainer.

It was reported tliat the following players would make up the! Canadian team:—S. Tait, Nanaimoi Football Club; H. G._ Noseworthy, Carsteel Football Club, Montreal; E. Edmunds, Nanaimo; F. Crawley, Bell Telephone Football Club, Toronto; J. M'K. Martin, Scottish, Montreal; J. Managhan, Woodfibre; D. Thompson, H. James, Winnipeg; W. Brolley, Irish, Winnipeg; H. J. Painter, C.P.U., Calgary; W. Moon, Lachine, Montreal; W. Milligan, Post Football Club, Uegina; H. Pagson, City, Hamilton; D. Turner, Ulster United, Toronto;. W. Gibson, Nationals, Winnipeg; D. Archibald, North Vancouver; J. Davidson, Caledonians, Edmunton;; R. L. Williams, St. Andrews, Vancouver; P. Francis, Caledonians, Calf.ary.- The manager is Mr. James Adams, an Alderman of Victoria City, a Rotarian, and one of the best known men in British Columbia, both in sporting and social circles. An intimation was received from Home that the question of Bending a Scottish team to' tour New Zealand would probably receive favourable consideration next seaso.i. „

The Australian Public Schools' Football Association wrote suggesting that New Zealand should receive v team o£ Australian schoolboys during the coming season. The Australian Association was prepared to pay ithe fares of tho boys to New Zealand, where, it was hoped, it would be possible to billet members of the team. Any profits from the tour would bo divided, Australia to receive 60 per cent.-and Now Zealand 40 per cent. The letter suggested that 1 matches should; be played against four provinces, with three Test matches. The proposal was referred to the New Zealand Schools' Football Association for favourable consideration.
