A. D. M'Leod) left to-day to attend the old identities' gathering at Palmcrston North. . . Tho Minister of Health (tho Hon. J. !Ar Young) leaves-.-to-night for Auckland. Mr. E. M'Calluni arrived in Wellington this morning. Mr. M. It. Findlay, inspector of stock at Balclutha, has been appointed to a similar position at AVellington. His Majesty's Trade Commissioner (Mr. L. B. Bealc) was a passengor by the Wahine from Lyttoltou to-duy. Mr. J. M. Diekson, M.P., arrived from tho South by the Wahine this morning. Tho Speaker ox the Houso of Bopresentatives (Sir Charles Statham) arrived from tho South by tho Wahino this morning. Mr. A. L. Tresiddcr, second clerk of tho Magistrate's Court at Wellington, has boon appointed junior inspector of Courts in Wellington. Dean Ktcliott (Vicar of All Saints') has resigned aftur forty-soVoli yours' service in the parish (states a Press Association telegram from Duncdin).
The death has occurred of Mr. Albert Bruce, at one time town clerk and treasurer &t. Thames, states a Press Association telegram from Thames. He was born in Sydney in 1848, and came to Thames in 1867. He was manager of the Waiotahi Gold Company, and acted as secretary to the Thames and Coromandel Hospital Board, the Thames Harbour Board, and tho School of Mines Council. The deceased took an active part in the formation of the South Auckland Kacing Club ami the Thames Jockey Club. In tho last three years he had been in failing health. Last year ho resigned from business.
Amongst the recent arrivals in Wellington is Mr. Victor S. Lloyd, 8.C0m., who, together with his family, came to New Zealand by tho lonic. Mr. Lloyd, who has been associated with somo of tho largest advertising agencies in Great Britain, has come out under special engagement to J. Ilott, Ltd. He secured his Bachelor of Commerce degree at tho University of Liverpool-. Another recent arrival is Mr. H. B. Hunt, who, accompanied by his wife and family, has also como to Now Zealand under engagement to J. Ilott, Ltd. Mr. Hunt is a Now Zoalander, who for somo years has boon one of the prominent artists of tho Norfolk Studio, London. Ho has now returned to his native land.
