- 'I am no pessimist, "said the Hon. Mr. M'Leod in his speech on Monday night at the complimentary dinner tendered by the Dunedin Manufacturers' Association, "but I say this country cannot go on importing motor-cars, benzine, and accessories to the value of £7,000,000. Only one other country has more cars in proportion to its population than we have.'' It was a serious problem, and- we could not afford to send that amount away to another country every year. Mr. S. M. Bruce, Prime Minister of Australia, will speak from 3LO, the Melbourne, broadcasting station, from 8, until 9 o'clock to-night, Wednesday (9.30 to 10.30 New Zealand time), on Ms experiences at the Imperial Conference. • ■■-■.
