SANTREY'S ORCHESTRA.
The coming oifa-J. C. Williamson Vaudeville , Company always evokes interest amongst theatregoers, but the opening of the 1927 .season is to be marked by an at-traction,in-the presentation of Santrey's £1000-a-week Orchestra, the most expensive . organisation of its kind to visit the Dominion. The Wellington season opens at the, Grand Opera House on Monday next, 14th February. There are eleven musicians -in thjs combination, and they are all masters of at'-'least six different instruments, while' the harp and the saxophone also-play their, part in the--general scheme, pf,i melody. "Wise in his generation;" remarks a Sydney reviewer,^ "Mr.Santrey serves up popular music in good form, : whilst' for those who prefer "it.-, his organisation gave also the classic works of Bach, Beethoven, ■ Wagner, and - Tschkowsky.V -It'is not"just^'a. jazz band.
