VESSEL IN DISTRESS

• MELBOURNE, This Day. The Helen Moore, with sails blown away by a gale of a velocity of 60 miles an hour, drifted oft Queenseliff until daylight, when the lifeboat crow were summoned by ringing of the wreck bell, which brought hundreds to the pier. A rocket from the Helen. Moore was also seen by the destroyer Yarra, anchored at the Swan Island Naval Depot, and the destroyer joined in the search for the distressed vessel, but without' success, no' further distress signals being .seen. At daylight the Helen Moore was lpented apparently aground. The lifeboat again put out and brought the crew ashore. Later, a tug left to bring the Helen Moore to port.
