MINOR CITY WORKS
The City Council has agreed that consideration should be given, when the estimates are being framed, to the following works:—Formation of access between Clonmel street and Hough ton Bay road; construction of footpath, Kenya street; improvements to Rongotai terrace and Liadet, M'Coll, and Whaui streets; reconstruction* of retaining wall, main road, Karori; removal of bank, Overtoun terrace; improvements to Salamanca road; and stornvwater drainage and roadway, Aparima avenue. The question of effecting improvements at . the corner of Hawker and Moeller streets is to be considered when the town plan is being looked into. The 3?ire Brigade station at Cecil road, Wadestown, is to be removed, and the building is to be utilised for other purposes.
The portion of Kelburn parade between Salamanca road and l'airlie terrace is to be paved with bitumen, in place of tar sealing, and both Bides of Fitzgerald terrace are to be surface-sealed.
A turning-place for motor-cars is to be formed on the Town Belt at the end of Sutherland road.
A zig-zag is to be constructed at Carlton street.
At the request of the Hataitai Electors' Association, Kewa street is in future to be known as Rewa road.
A property at the corner o£ Grant road and Park street is to be taken by the City Council under the Public Works Act for street-widening and tramway purposes.
