TERRIFIC HAILSTORM

PIGS AND FOWLS KILLED

(United Press Association.—Copyright). (Received 21st January, 10 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day. A terrific hailstorm swept Barden. Grove, near Dungog. Corn crops and' fruit trees were stripped and a largo number of pigs and fowls killed. Horses and cattle also suffered severely. Hail stones, weighing eight ounces, fell, denting the roofs as by hammers and cutting telephone wires. Lumps of ice were found in the centre of water melons, most of which were chopped to pieces.
