The captain had entered the cage to attend a sick cubwhon the lion broks through the partition and started mauling him. The lioness sprang on the lion, and after a terrific fight, in which the cubs joined with their mother, succeeded in dragging the lion off Bostock,, who was able to crawl through the' door, badly torn. Tho fight proceeded until the animals were separated by assistants. This is the second time the lioness has saved Bostoclc'. »
