"The Big Parade," a:twelve-reel Metrq-Goldwyn-Miryer . production, ■is coming to the De Luxe Theatre on 21st January, commencing at the matinee, at 2.30 p.m. "The Big Parade" has been awarded Photoplay's gold medal as "the best picture of its year," and John Gilbert re-, ceived the gold medal for the finest characterisation. In London, Paris, Berlin, andNew York "The -Big Parade" is credited with ' captivating hugs audiences as no other picture has ever done. The achievement is described as "digging deep down into the innermost hearts of humans with an appeal to all manhood and womanhood that cannot be resisted." Greatly impressive is the human'ness of the story, and greatly infpressive is . the simplicity and truth iof the characterisations. "The Big Parade" had the distinction of being censored and passed by • the members of the Federal and State Parliaments of Victoria after reyiew, a distinction never accorded to any other picture. In New Zealand the film was passed by the censor "•without a cut." Box plans for matinees and evening screenings are now open at The Bristoland atAitken's. ;
