SALVATION ARMY
COMMISSIONER'S TOUR,
Commissioner James Hay, .of the Salvation Army, will leave Wellington by; to-night's ferry for the South Island, where he is undertaking- an extensive tour through Otago, Southland, Canterbury, and the West Coast. He will conduct special. campaigns at Christchurch City, Dunedin Cily, InvercargiU, and Greyniouth, in addition to holding special meetings af twenty other important centres. Adjutant Esther Hay; will accompany tho commissioner as soloist,- while _ Brigadier Saunders, the principal of the Training Garrison, Wellington, will assist the commissioner in all his campaigns. Special interest will be taken in the opening up of nevv centres for Salvation Army activities at New Brighton and Mataura, while other places will be considered with a view to further extending the work of; the army. - The social, operations for, women and children at the larger centres will be inspected and plans . discussed for improving conditions for the existing work and schemes for future developments will be reviewed.-
The Salvation Army has, entered upon a special campaign which is to last' throughout 1927, the object of this being to advance the Army in all its vital branches at least 20 per cent.
