A MISSING SEAMAN

OTAKI'S SAILING DELAYED,

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The steamer Otaki, which was ready to sail from Lyttelton for London, via Panama, at 5 o'clock last evening, was delayed on account of a member of the crew being absent and several others refusing duty. At 0.30 p.m. the officers took the vessel from the wharf to an. anchorage in tho stream. Prior to the vessel leaving the wharf, several members' of the crew attempted to get ashore. One man jumped overboard, but he was brought back without much difficulty. The Otaki loft at 12.10 a.m.
