CALEDONIAN CARNIVAL.
On account of the unpleasant weather conditions last evening, the Caledonian Carnival on the Kilbirnie Recreation Ground was not.a success. To-night, however, a record i« anticipated to witness the opening pf the boxing tournament, which will' be held on a special stage brilliantly lighted by powerful electric lamps. Sp.ortS-loviug people will have a unique opportunity of witnessing in this tournament, which" will run until Thursday night, some of the finest bouts seen locally for a long time. Admission will be free of charge. The carnival is steadily increasing in size, and quite a number of side shows and other attractions, are to be added during the next few days. To-morrow night the Wellington Regimental \ Band, tinder Captain Shardlow, ;.vil} be in attendance* vand should prove a big attraction.
