The Salvation Army, in view of tbm early approach of Christmas, makes as appeal for assistance in bringing relief, comfort, and some joy to the homes of many needy families. 111-health, unem* ployment, and other troubles frequently make it impossible for a number of people to put by any provision such a« would help them and be a blessing to the children at this festive season. The Army's officers constantly visit such homes, and know how real the need is. In addition to these the very large number constantly ministered to in the social institutions have some special claim at this time of kindness and goodwill. Don* ations or goods will be gratefully received at the National Headquarters, Cuba street, Wellington.
