ASHBUETON, This Day.
A deputation from the Mid-Canter* bury Executive of the Farmers' Union waited on the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, the Acting-Prime Minister, when tlio latter was on his way to Wellington, urging tho imposition of a further embargo on the importation of wheat and flour. The Minister promised to consult Cabinet.
