LECTURE TO MOTORISTS

A large gathering of motorists assembled at Hope Gibbons' Buildings, Dixon street, last evening at the invitation of Mr. C. A. Speers, who is touring the world to explain to motorists the manufacture and functioning of spark-plugs. Cinema films amply explained the various processes of manufacture, notably the mining of sillimanite, the material exclusively used in the manufacture o£ "Champion" spark-plug insulators. This mineral is mined in the lofty mountains of Nevada and Niobe, packed to the railhead over most difficult country. A number of European motor race pictures were also shown. The lectures, which are of great educational value, will be continued every evening this week. Admission is free, and motorists arc particularly invited.
