WENT BROKE AT THE RACES
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. "I committed tho offences because I wanted money. I went broke at the races, and was out of work." This explanation was made to the police by Leonard Wright (27), charged to-day with committing three burglaries in the suburbs. Accused pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
