MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. Charged with breaking and entering the tobacconist's shop of Angus 'Duncan, Lambton-(|y., by night, and 'stealing a number of walking sticks aud razors aud a quantity of cigarette cases and cigarettes, valued at £0 lis, Charles Goodwcll, a hairdresser, aged -15, was remanded to appear on Ist December. For resisting a constable in the execution of his duty, James Shannon, a farm labourer, aged 4S, was fined £5, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Ho was also ordered to pay as for damaging a pane of glass at the Taranaki Street Police Station, and was convicted and discharged for drunkenness. Shannon's explanation was that he was drunk at the time, and had no recollection of the offences. Char .cd with having stowed away on the R.M.S. Tahiti at Papeete, Hong Choc, a Chinees 'labourer, aged 26, was remanded to appear to-morrow week. A remand to to-morrow was granted in the case of Kenneth Guy, a young man in the employ of the Department of Agriculture, who was charged with having stolen postal notes worth 6s.
