A.O.F. HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION
A movement to form a hospital association for the Aucient Order of Foresters was initiated recently by Bro. L. Inkster, Court Royal, Northland, who convened a meeting of delegates from the city and suburban courts for that purpose. The object in view was stated to be the creation of an organisation to enable members of the A.O.F. to pay in a sum of 10s per year to a central fund, which would entitle members and their families up to twelve years of age to attend the Public Hospital without direct payment, the association paying the Hospital Board the necessary fees. Arrangements have been made for a reduction of 50 per cent, on fees for all indoor patients. Last week a further meeting was held, >at which the following officers were elected:—President, Bro. L. Inkster; vice-president, Bro. R. M. Russell; secretary, Bro. C. Shapcott; treasurer, Bro. R. M. Russell; trustees, Bros. Waitt and Capp, Sister Lawton; auditor, Bro. T. Mark. A committee comprising one delegate from each court was appointed to formulate rules. It is anticipated that the association will commence operations in the New Year.
