PRICE OF WHEAT

EFFECT OF AUSTRALIAN QUOTATIONS. (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evenrg Post.") CHRISTCHUROH, This Day. A few weeks ago some sales of next season's whoat were made at 6a per bushel on trucks at country, stations. At that time Australian flour, to bo made from the new season's wheat, was being offered to New Zealand at £12 10s per tool f.o.b. at the port of shipment. Since then, however, the price of Australian flour has come down to £12, and now New Zealand growers would probably find it difficult to obtain Cs for their wheat. Australia is assured a very big harvest. Probably most of tho millers havo purchased a certain quantify at this price to enable them to carry on for the first few weeks of tho new seasons but, in view of the lower quotations from Australia, they are not prepared to go on paying 6s.
