INTER-CLUB MATCHES.
Tho following is the draw for the first round of the senior grade interclub matches, to commence at Miramar on Saturday next:—Brougham Hill v. Miramar, Thorndon v. University, Newtown v. Lyall Bay, Wellington) a bye. No third'grade games will be played on the 27th November, but will commence on 4th December. Club secretaries and^ players must make themselves conversant with the rules to facilitate the conduct of the oompetition as a whole, and the matches in particular.
The Hutt Valley Power Board advertises that meetings will be held throughout the district so that ratepayers may be made conversant with the loan proposal on which a poll is to be taken on Ist December for the raising of £150,000. The rapid progress made has exceeded the most optimistic expectations and has placed the board in the position of third in New Zealand (exclusive of cities) as regards number of consumers.
