. <By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. After many delays the actual work of erecting the long anticipated traffic bridge over the Selwyn river on the Main South road is about to be commenced, and in another week the steam hammer, which has been brought down from the North Island for the purpose of driving the piles, will be put into action. At present the workmen are engaged in the construction of a derrick for the pile-driving operations, and it is expected that everything will be in readiness in a few days. About two dozen ferro-concrete piles have liccn made at the sito.
