BROKEN BYLAWS

Breaches of the city bylaws were dealt with by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon. For allowing premises at 111, Tory street, to get into such a condition that they were likely to harbour rats, Annie .Deckston was ordered to pay 7 costs. Allen Birch was fined £1 for riding a motor-cycle in a dangerous manner. Speeding over an intersection cost Walter R. Read £1. Frank Smith was fined £2 for giving a false name and address to a traffic officer, and a similar amount for failing to obtain a driver's license. Failure to light his motor-cycle properly cost him 10s. For leaving his car on the wrong side of the street, John Swinson was fined £1. A similar fine was imposed on George A. Waddle, who turned his car in Cuba street, a prohibited street.
