ALLEGATIONS OF THEFT.

DUNEDIN, 4th November.

Charged with stealing £20 in money, the property of a partnership in which ho was concerned, a Wellington man appeared before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., in the City Police Court to-day. i "The accused was only arrested this morning, and I ask that ho be remanded to appear at Wellington," said Acting-Chief -Detective Beer. "I understand there arc other charges pending." Detectivo Boer said nothing of the facts was known to the Dunedin police. If bail wore not forthcoming ho asked for a remand to appear at Wellington to-morrow morning as the escort was ready. The Magistrate ordered the suppression of the accused's name, and a remand to appear at Wellington on 10th November was granted, bail being allowed. Tho accused is to report to the Wellington police on arrival.
