OUTBREAK OF FIREBLIGHT

HAWKES BAT FRUIT TREES

ATTACKED.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, 4th November,

Pireblight has broken out (to a limited extent so far) at Havelock North. This is the first time the disease has attacked fruit trees in Hawkes Bay, where there is ample scope for it to do most serious damage if not checked. Mr. N. J. Adamson, Government orchard inspector at Hastings, has the matter in hand, and has warned fruitgrowers of the necessity for extreme vigilance.
