The anniversary services of the Baptist Sunday School were held on Sunday. The morning service was taken by the Key. H. J. Ralph (Congregational). At the afternoon services the prizes in connection with the primary department were distributed. The speaker at the evening service was Pastor J. C. Maekay. The annual meeting was held on Monday evening. The report stated that the number of teachers in active service was 25, and the number of scholars, including the senior Bible clnss, 224. The cradle roll contained 28 names. Tho superintendent, Mr. T. Pettit, stilted that he was not accepting nomination. He had been connected with the Sunday School for 50 yeare, and he looked back on the time with joy and pleasure. He thanked all for the loyal manner in which they had supported him in his work. Mr. H. Wood stated that Mr. Pettit had been superintendent for 36 years, and had been made honorary vice-superintendent for life. Mr. M. Blick, on behalf, of the teachers presented Mr. Pettit with a j handsomely-bound Schofield's edition of ' the Bible. Dr. Haigh, who has been visitinir Nelson in connection with the musical examinations, gave an organ recital on Tuesday evening at the School of Music to a very appreciative audience. Violin solos were contributed by Mrs. E. T. Porter. At the close of the recital Dr. Haigh addressed a gathering of Nelson music teachers, and in the course of very encouraging remarks, suggested the formation of an orchestra by the Music Teachers' Association. A sale of work in connection with St Mary s Church was opened this afternoon. During the course of a meeting of creditors to-day, the Official Assignee, Mr. !'. W. Mitchell, issued a general warning that if it was possible to bring a prosecution against a bankrupt he was thoroughly resolved to do so. He did not propose to see the Bankruptcy Act flouted. A bazaar in connection with the Cathedral Missionary Service League was opened in the Marsden Church Hall this afternoon by the Bishop of Nelson.
