DEER SHOOTING IN FIORDLAND

INVERCARGILL, 2nd November. Applications for wapiti blocks in the fiordland during the forthcoming hunting season have been received by the Southland Acclimatisation Society from eight parties comprising 16 sportsmen. At a ballot held to-day in the society's office the following were allocated blocks: — Block 1, A. and K. Sutherland (Hinakura, Wairarapa); block 2, J. L.. and F. W. M'Caw (Hakataramea); block 3, E. J. and H. Herrick (Hastings).
