MANSON AND BARR, LTD., Palmerston North.

This year's Manawatu Show gives a very good indication of the returning prosperity. The evident interest the farmer ia taking in the display of machinery made by Messrs. Manson and Barr, Ltd., would seem to indicate more settled conditions, and the undertaking of more tillage of the soil from which all our prosperity comes. Messrs.. Manson and Barr are by far the largest exhibitors on the grounds. Their display is a comprehensive one, embracing as it does everything required by the man of agriculture or his junior brother the dairy farmer. It does credit to this firm of machinery importers, and tho district alike, and every visitor to the show to-day and to-morrow must see it. It is many a long day since Such a fine collection of agricultural machinery was made at the Palmerston North Shows, and this firm is to be congratulated on its return to the exhibiting stage. Several new lines of British and Australian machinery are exhibited here for the first time, and it is really wonderful to note the great interest evinced in it by all and sundry. One particular implement which the farmer with hilly country to plough is enthusiastic about is "Shaves" twofurrow reversible jump . stump disc, plough,-"'an Australian - manufactured implement, admirably suited to New Zealand.a hilly lands. The firm also display a Keystone-thrasher, the popular • "Wallace" manure distributor, which is'made by ai firm in Castle Douglas, Scotland. The: new Zealand-mado Storrie-W-ollatt: ;m'anure distributor is also, on exhibition.; Other lines shown include horse hoe.B,;Ontario saw, benches, the Farmers' Favourite drill,, Planet garden implements and tools, fine and spring-tooth farrows,, Woodyatt lawn mowers;: Shanks's'famous motor lawn mowers, Daisy churns, and a host of other lines of interest'to every man on the land. Besides its; extensive connection with '• agricultural .machinery, the firm- does a very large trade; in general hardware,'""■■'■; crockery,. electro-plated goods, and builders' requirements. They are agents for Wilson's famous. Star Brand cement and hydraulic lime. Their output of this is going, up by leaps and bounds, which shows how popular it is with municipalities, contractors, and farmers generally. The firm are Palmerston agents for MasseyHarris implements, and -stock spare parts.
