CHAMBERLAIN.
(Received 2nd November, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Ist November.
A bodyguard of two dozen stalwart undergraduates, wearing dungarees, silk hats, and monocles, escorted Sir Arthur Chamberlain from the station at Glasgow for his installation as Lord Rector of the University. Thousands of students outside gavo Sir Austen ft vociferous welcome. When he entered his open carriage the horses were taken out and the students dragged the carriage for three miles to the University, accompanied by two thousand torch-bearors.
