LONBON, Ist November
The Defence Committee of the Imperial Conference discussed points concerning tho Army, and will similarly; discuss the Air Force at the office of the Air Ministry to-morrow, the full Conference resuming ou the defence discussion ou Thursday. Valuable work has been accomplished by the Economic Sub-Committee in connection with the collection of data in regard to supplies and consumption of wool, including stocks in dealers' and users' hands. The Sub-Committee also considered proposals tfiat the proprietor! of cool stores in Britain and Northern Ireland should bo compelled to notify; their stocks, details of which at present are unpublished in these countries. Particulars relating to meat and dairy produce were considered essential in order tp put that trade on a proper basis. Means ware also considered of making all statistics available for tho development of Imperial trade.
Sir Halford Mackinder reported on Imperial shipping, which the Economic Committee next considers.
The Forestry Committee meets on. Tuesday and will consider Australia's and New Zealand's proposal that thi Forestry Conference of 1928 shall provide for the establishment of a forestry bureau of communications.
The committee discussed cables, shipping, and wireless, and in order to, secure expedition members of tho Conference will inspect Bugby wireless station on Saturday, and will attend the Armistice Day service on 11th November, and also a demonstration of army mechanicalisation. at Camberley; on 13th November.
