PUBLIC RECONCILIATION
CROWN PRINCE CAROL AND QUEEN MARIE OF RUMANIA.
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) PARIS, 12th October.
There has been, an affecting public reconciliation, of tlie Crown Prince Carol and Queen Marie of Rumania. The Queen, surrounded by her suilo, was leaving the Saint Lazare station en route for America, when- a fairhaired young man pushed through the crowd, seized the Queen's hand, and kissed it passionately. The Queen was startled, and then recognised her son. After a moment's hesitation she took him in her arms, and embraced him fervently, and wept. The people on the platform discreetly withdrew, allowing tho reconciliation to be complete. Though earlier it was reported that the Queen had forbidden Carol to visit her, sho looked very happy when she left to join the Leviathan. It is understood the reconciliation does not at present affect Carol's renunciation of his succession to the throne.
