"MR. S. A. KAWDON'S" ACTION.
MELBOURNE, This Day.
A sensation has been caused in racing circles through the action of Dr. Syme, ono of the most influential supporters of the Turf in Australia, and who races under the name of Mr. S. A. Rawdon. He has decided to sell the whole of his horses now in training. This action follows his recent defeat for a seat on the Victoria Amateur Turf Club Committee, whereon he sat for years. He scratched all his horses for last Saturday's Caulfield Meeting, and it is reported that he declared that he intended never to race again at Caulfield. Dr. Symo retains a number of untrained horses, and will continue to conduct his Toolanda Stud. Dr. Syine, or, as he is bettor known, "Mr. S. A. Kawdoa," lias been a prominent man on the Victorian Turf, and has raced a number of good horses. He won a Newmarket Handicap with Blague, and the Caulfield Guineas with the same horse. In 1923 ho won the Oakloigh Plato with Chelidon, whoso sire, Broadsword, "Mr. Rawdoi." purchased from Sir Georgq Clifford, and shortly after effecting the sale won the 1911 A.J.C. Doncastor Handicap. There has been a good deal of discussion in flic Melbourne Press concerning the. inner workings of the Oaulfield Club, and it was expected that the annual mooting and election of officers would generate some heat.
