PETONE SITTING.

The fortnightly sitting of Petone Magistrate's Court was held on Wednesday before Mr. A. M. Mnwlem, S.M. G-. A. Parkhouse was fined 10s and 7s costs for casting offensive matter on the footpath. For using a motor-car without having tho certificate of registration endorsed, A. Miller was ordered to pay costs, 7s, and Charles Moran, for failing to notify tho change of ownership of a motor-car, was also ordered to pay costs, 7s. For being on licensed premises after hours K. M'Grcgor was fined £1 and Ss costs. For a breach of his prohibition order J. E. Byrne was fined £3. C. J. Jordon for procuring a firearm without a permit was fined 10a and £1 2s costs, and J. Livott for delivering tho firearm to a person without a permit was fined 10s and 12s costs. Trespassing on the railway lino cost Richard Tito, A. E. Read, Edith Al. Haines, and Mabel E. Haines each ii_l and 7s costs. W. S. Lochhcad was fined £2 aud 7s costs for failing to close his shop on the weekly half-holiday. 11. Hurrcll for failing to keep a wages booli was fined £3 and 7s costs. Charged with exceeding the speed limit in motor-vehicles A. R. Borkett, W. Mangin, E. P. Gould, F. W. Lee, and E. G. Pinny were each fined £2 and 7s costs. T. C. Bilby had a maintenance order against him increased from Os Sd per month to 7s 6d per week. Judgment for plaintiff by default, with costs, was given iv the following undefended civil cases: —AY. L. Jenness v. R. Pudscy, 15s; the Reid Estate v. J. T. Ward, £10 13s lid; H. A. Hurrcll v. George Martin, £21. In a judgment summons case D. Ferguson was ordered to pay the Firestone Tire Go. £20 0s Od within 28 days, or suffer 21 days' imprisonment.

William Moran, found at night on hotel premises without lawful excuse, but without intent to commit a crime, was convicted and discharged at tho Petone Police Court yesterday, before Messrs. J. Burn and Thomas Potts, J.IVs.
