Playing at The Oval against the Rest of England, Lancashire's first innings realised 177 (Hallows 73), Tnto taking four wickets for 40 runs. The Best of England, in the first innings, made 217, and !n the second have lost two wickets for 291 (Sutcliffo 136, Hobbs 62, Woolley not out 65).
