BLACK BROTHERS' BATTLE.

Squally, spiteful- weather spoilt good cards during the week-end, but Rana Wagg did a 72 in the morning in his match against R. O. Chesney in the semifinals of the Hutt championship. It was a remarkable card, with four 6's in it, and he did the first eleven holes in one over 4's, truly _ remarkab_*_.rd on such a day, counting in the -extra length of the new ro igh holes, where a dropped stroke is the rule, with even the best players, owing to two poor greens.. A team of ladies from Manor Park visited the Waiwetu links on Saturday, and were beaten by the Waiwetu Club ladies' team by 5 matches to 3. The following are the results, Waiwetu players mentioned first:—

Miss Robinson beat Miss Newman, 4 and 2; Mrs. Evison lost to Mrs. Wtitwel 1, 3 and 1; Miss Walters lost to Miss Jennings, 2 and 1; Miss A.
